Consulting

I am available for a wide range of consulting services. My focus is on effective, adaptive and scalable approaches appropriate for the organizations quality needs over “best practices” which may not be best given the context. As organizations and projects are unique, I partner with clients to establish a engagement plan that focuses on their specific quality concerns. I am strongly committed to collaboration and communication, and work closely with clients to assess progress and make adjustments as appropriate.

Assessments

Assessing your current practices is an important starting point to improving your capabilities. Assessments may be geared towards your overall delivery practices or addressing the concerns of a specific project. The assessment will involve interviews with stakeholders and key individuals to understand the current challenges and successes, as well as the desired goals and objectives.

The outcome will provide both short term and long term recommendations including organizational change management considerations to help you achieve your goals.

Leadership & Development Coaching

I am passionate about developing leaders who can empower, enable, inspire, motivate and challenge their teams. These are especially important qualities in software testing where times can be tough. I can provide coaching in all aspects of the challenging and rewarding roles of leadership and management.

My development coaching focuses on creating a learning organization. Our industry is constantly changing and it is imperative to maintain a commitment to the training and development of our teams.

Program & Project Test Management

I have extensive experience in providing leadership and management on small projects to enterprise wide programs. This includes developing stakeholder relationships, defining the test strategy, test planning, test design & execution frameworks, defining the supporting processes (defect, change, release), tool selection & implementation, metrics & measurements, and effective communication & reporting.

Successful test efforts are those that provide stakeholders with meaningful, timely information relating to quality, and can adapt the test approach to meet changing project needs.

Practice Definition & Implementation

Whether you are forming a centre of excellence (COE), building a new software tesing team, or re-focusing an existing team, I can provide guidance in defining and achieving that vision. I have a pragmatic approach to implementing the people, processes and technology required to meet the specific software testing needs of each organization.

Key success factors include stakeholder engagement, change management strategies, short term and long term goals, communication plans and progress monitoring. The ultimate success factor is building a team comprised of talented and committed individuals with a passion for software quality and the craft of software testing.
