Set to Participate in AST’s BBST Foundations Course
This week I received my welcome email to the BBST Foundations course by the Association for Software Testing, AST. The course is set to begin next week on May 2nd goes until May 29th. I have heard excellent things about this course and the follow-on advanced courses. I was disappointed last year when I had to cancel my registration due to scheduling conflicts. You can review the course details and learning objectives on the BBST Foundations course page, http://training.associationforsoftwaretesting.org/Foundations.
I found this quote on the AST site today and I think it sums up the course really well. “The amazing fact about the BBST foundations course is that it does not restrict itself to the number of years of experience, domain, etc an individual has in testing, but rather it sets up a fantastic stage for testers with different experiences, nationalities, and backgrounds to discuss, share and learn together.” – Sharath Byregowda
AST’s online courses are highly interactive and I am looking forward to participating. I really welcome opportunities to challenge my perspectives on software testing and to develop new insights. I look forward to sharing my learning on my blog and on Twitter over the next few weeks.
If you are not familiar with the AST here is a summary from the website. “The Association for Software Testing is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and practice of software testing. The AST serves a community of scholars, students, and software development practitioners by providing forums for discussion of all aspects of software testing through conferences, publications, web sites, and other services.”
The AST offers the BBST Foundations course *free* to all members. Membership is only $85 US/year for an individual with special rates for lifetime membership, groups and organizations. I strongly recommend becoming a member if you are not already. Check out the details on AST Membership. As of today there is still space available for the May 2 – May 29 session of the BBST Foundations course. Register Here
Another great bonus with your AST membership is the discounted rates on the CAST Conference. Check out the upcoming CAST Conference 2010 – “Skills in Testing”. You can read my previous blog entry titled “Presenting at CAST Conference 2010!” for my perspectives on this outstanding conference.
Check back with my blog over the next few weeks for updates on my progress in the course. Wish me luck!
